Monique Guidry, CRNA
Welcome! I am Monique Guidry, an accomplished CRNA, the wife of a successful trauma surgeon, and busy mom of 2 beautiful daughters, Katie and Kristen. I was born and raised in Louisiana, and have made Charlotte, NC my home.
So how did I get here? At 23, I graduated with my BSN from a very distinguished professional program, the University of Louisiana at Monroe School of Nursing. As a new mom with a broken engagement; although I was always a gifted student, I found myself struggling to keep up in that nursing program. I leaned on my God-given faith to pull me out of the rut I was in. That is when things started to turn around for the better in my life. With God's guidance and some learned personalized study habits, I mastered it! I learned very quickly how to apply God's word to every area of my life and get real results.
After graduating, passing the NCLEX, I worked for less than a year before I realized I wanted to pursue a career as a CRNA. I had known about them but I was inspired to become one by seeing just 1 CRNA who looked like me. After just one anesthesia school application and interview at a very competitive program, I GOT IN on the FIRST TRY!! It was the same way I had experienced admission into nursing school; so I can tell you a lot about God's favor! After receiving my Masters Degree in Nurse Anesthesia, passing yet another board exam becoming a CRNA, God told me "The Best is Yet to Come!" Somehow, I knew He meant my husband. This working single mom was getting a husband hand-picked by God.
I then moved to the big city of Houston, TX to start my career as a CRNA. As a high-level professional with my middle, there was seemingly no time to date. The work-life balance struggle was real, lol. One day, I met this young, attractive guy in the OR while he was perfecting his endoscopy skills. We locked eyes in the OR and our love story began. He was just 29 and already completing his residency to become a general surgeon! We started working out together and very easily became best friends. It didn't take us long before we both realized that we didn't want to do life without the each other.
Today, I realize that it,s only by the grace of God that I am as blessed as I am. With only a few missteps, my life could have easily gone in a different direction. He has blessed me with a wonderful family, a loving husband, beautiful and kind children, and an amazing career; I'm literally living the dream! I feel as though it's my purpose to share with you that God's will is for YOU to have everything that your heart desires. If you have a dream in your heart, no matter how big, you most certainly CAN have it all!
